Why there is no password.
We do not ask you to invent a secret and we do not keep one. The link in your inbox is the whole login: it works once, it expires in 15 minutes, and there is nothing stored here worth stealing. One less password in the world.
Coming back later? The link is one-time; the account is not. You stay signed in on this browser for as long as you keep using the site, and if that lapses — or you are on a different machine — put the same address in the same box and a fresh link arrives. That is the whole sign-in procedure, every time, forever.
Entering an address here for the first time creates the account when you follow the link — not before, so nobody can create accounts in your name by typing your address.
Verify up to 25 URLs at once

The validator works without an account and always will — one page, one answer. An account is for doing it to twenty-five pages at a time. Verifying is free. Writing the markup in the first place is what implementation covers.
